Whilst enjoying our four day weekend I thought it would be nice to do some crafts with the kids especially as its been so rainy the last few days, so here was my plan...
Josh found this Make a Gup A activity in his Octonaut annual (download page here) and I though as it's a long weekend it should keep them occupied for a while so we gave it a shot, and they have turned out not too bad considering they were made with my 4 and 2 year old :)
I followed the guide in book but adapted slightly as the kids didn't want to wait for 2 nights of drying before playtime. (one was enough after paper-maching the balloon) Instead of making the windows etc out of paper mache I drew up designs on the computer googled a logo, printed it and stuck them on with PVA glue. (download design here) I also used toilet roll tubes for the base as i didn't have egg boxes I stuck the base and fins on with masking and packing tape and then mixed PVA into the paint so that it wouldn't need an extra coat at the end.
